teamLab Planets Tokyo: What the Ticket Actually Costs, and the Code That Shaves a Bit Off

teamLab Planets in Toyosu is Tokyo's most visited museum, and the ticket runs around $24. Here's what's actually in it, and a real discount code that applies to it.

Visitors walk barefoot through a reflective, water-covered floor illuminated with colorful projected light at teamLab Planets in Tokyo.

teamLab Planets, in Toyosu, is the other big teamLab museum in Tokyo (the newer one is teamLab Borderless in Azabudai Hills, we’ve covered that one separately). Planets is the one where you take your shoes off: you walk barefoot through ankle-deep water, across a reflective floor, and through rooms that respond to your own movement. As of this Klook listing, a standard ticket runs about $24.29, and it’s not a small operation: over 18,000 reviews at a 4.7 average, which is why Klook’s own data lists it as one of the highest-earning single activities in Japan.

What’s actually in the ticket

  • The water area: you walk through shallow, warm water across a mirrored floor while colored fish-shaped light projections swim around your feet.
  • The Soft Black Hole room: a squishy, sagging floor that makes standing upright genuinely difficult, while the room around you shifts.
  • The Forest Area: added January 2025, a newer section with interactive garden-style installations that wasn’t in the museum when it first opened.
  • A cafe and open-air garden area, so it isn’t just gallery rooms back to back, there’s somewhere to sit down between sections.

Because you’re wading through water, they hand out towels, but plan on damp legs either way. It’s a genuinely different experience from teamLab Borderless, less a gallery you walk through and more a set of physical sensations you go through.

Book on Klook

The relevant tier for a single teamLab Planets ticket is the 1% off “selected things to do” offer, teamLab Planets is explicitly on that list. It’s not a huge amount on a $24 ticket, but it’s real, and if your Klook cart for the trip crosses $50 total (easy to do once you add a second activity or a transit pass), the new or existing user tiers above are worth more.

Is it worth it

For a family, this is the kind of stop that earns its ticket price on the photos alone, and our kids have been more locked in here than at some attractions that cost three times as much. If you’re already choosing between teamLab Planets and teamLab Borderless and can only do one, that comparison deserves its own post rather than a rushed paragraph here, we’ll get to it. For now: Planets is the one with the water, Borderless is the one with the floating light orbs, and both are worth the trip if you have the time for both.
